3rd International Workshop on INTERNET PERFORMANCE, SIMULATION, MONITORING AND MEASUREMENTS
Warsaw, Poland, March 14-15, 2005
CALL FOR PAPERS
IPS-MoMe 2005
Organised by:
Institute of Telecommunications Warsaw University of Technology, Poland in cooperation with IST MOME cluster
WORKSHOP PURPOSE
The IPS-MoMe 2005 (Internet Performance, Simulation, Monitoring and Measurements) is a successor of the IPS-2003 and IPS-2004 workshops organized in the frame of the European projects IST INTERMON (5FP) and IST MOME (6FP). The motivation for the IPS-MoMe is to serve as an integration forum for researchers from academia, standardisation, industry and research labs for presenting recent research results and practical experience in the different aspects of the Internet performance and control.
WORKSHOP TOPICS
The workshop is addressed to discuss the Internet issues corresponding to the performance aspects, simulation tools and results as well as to the monitoring and measurements systems. The workshop topics:
Performance issue
- QoS mechanisms - QoS architectures - Traffic control - Internet traffic modelling - Traffic engineering - Signalling in the Internet - QoS routing - Resource management - QoS aware applications - Network planning - QoS in convergent networks: fixed-mobile
Simulation tools and results (best practice)
- Scalable simulation models for the Internet - Measurement-based simulation and modelling - Simulation methods - Geographical and topological mapping
Monitoring and Measurements
- Measurement tools - Passive and active measurements methods - QoS metrics - Measurement architectures and systems - Inter- and intra-domain measurements - SLA/SLS monitoring - Measurement-based admission control - QoS monitoring and sampling
WORKSHOP VENUE
The workshop will be held at the Warsaw University of Technology: www.pw.edu.pl.
PROCEEDINGS EDITION
All accepted papers will be published in the form of the workshop proceedings. The intention is to publish the post-conference book in a prestigious edition.
Remark that the paper publication is conditioned by paper presentation at the Workshop.
