[mome-announce] MOME is organising a Standardisation event

Dear all,

the MOME project invites you to participate to the Monitoring and
Measurement standardisation event.

Event location and date: The event will be co-located with the 63rd IETF
meeting at Le Palais des Congress De Paris (2, Place de la Porte
Maillot, 75017 Paris Cedex 17 France). The event will take place on July
31st from 9:00 to 12:00 in the room 332M/333M.

Event Scope and Objectives: Monitoring and measurements of Internet
traffic often involves not just a single application, but a combination
of different tools that process measured information at different
levels. In order to exchange information between these tools, common
information models, data models, file formats, and protocols are
required. The interoperability of measurement and monitoring tools
depends largely on the level of standardisation achieved for the above
mentioned interactions. Within this scope, the standardisation event
aims at achieving the following objectives:

    * To encourage standardisation initiatives in areas where
contribution is needed
    * To ensure that relevant and upcoming standards are understood and
followed by projects and companies
    * To spread knowledge and experience in IETF standardisation among
different projects
    * To introduce interested "newcomers" to the IETF WGs and related
activities in the MOME area
    * To report and discuss results of the coordination activities
carried out by the MOME standardisation team
