IPS-MoMe 2006 - Workshop Announcement


Call for participation

4th International Workshop on
Internet Performance, Simulation, Monitoring and Measurement
in co-operation with
IST MOME cluster, ACM SIGSIM and IEEE Austria Section

The IPS-MoMe 2006 (Internet Performance, Simulation, Monitoring and Measurements) is a successor to the IPS-2003, IPS-2004 and IPS-MoMe 2005 workshops which were organised within the scope of the European projects IST-INTERMON (FP5) and IST-MOME (FP6). The motivation behind the IPS-MoMe workshop is to serve as an integration forum for researchers from academia, standardisation bodies, industry and research labs for presenting recent research results and practical experience an different aspects of Internet performance and control.

The 4th International Workshop on Internet Performance, Simulation, Monitoring and Measurement (IPS-MoMe 2006) will be held at the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences, from 27 to 28 February 2006.

The technical programme will include 18 high-quality paper presentations (selected by the Technical Programme Committee out of 34 submissions), two keynote speeches, two invited talks and two selected tutorials.

The keynote speeches will be given by Pertti Jauhiainen, European Commission, and Dirk Hetzer, T-Systems Germany.
The invited talks will be given by Gregor v. Bochmann,
University of Ottawa, and. Heiner Hummel, Salzburg Research.

18 selected papers will be presented covering topics in relevant areas of interest to the Internet Performance, Simulation, Monitoring and Measurement Community, including:
+ Traffic Analysis & Pattern Recognition
+ Speech Quality in Fixed and Mobile VoIP Networks
+ Performance Analysis
+ Simulation & Measurement Tools
+ Traffic Modelling & Engineering

Two selected tutorials will be given:
+ BGP-4 Route Repositories by Pedro A. Aranda Gutiérrez, Telefónica I+D
+ Emulating Computer Networks with Netkit by Massimo Rimondini, University of Pisa

The social programme includes a guided tour through the city of Salzburg and the famous Mozart Dinner Concert including the delicious Mozart Menu and a three part concert in the Baroque Hall of St. Peter, located in the historic centre of Salzburg.
